Day 4: Tokyo Part Ichi

This morning we got up at 4am. Fortunately, this wasn't a huge stretch for us given our jet lag. We made our way to the Tsukiji Fish Market. We attempted to witness the early morning Tuna Auction, but arrived too late - the market opens at 3am. While we were dissapointed for a moment, we began wondering the stalls, saw some very interesting things, and ate some amazing pastery! We read that we couldn't enter the main market until 9am because tourists interfer with the business being conducted, but we walked right in! We now understand why tourists aren't allowed - its CRAZY in there. Fast moving vehicles shipping product everywhere, very tight corridors, and many moving blades, etc... The SIZE of fish we saw was unlike anything we had seen before. The variety was amazing. We regularly failed to recognize the different varieties of ocean fare we laid eyes on.

Its now almost 9am and we're off to explore Tokyo further. Its a beautiful day today and not raining at all! We're planning to go for a boat ride in the park and walk through the Imperial Palace!
